Teaching your children the gospel early can help your children build a relationship with God and give them an interest in the bible. However, teaching the gospel to children can be challenging, even if you regularly attend church and Bible study. Here are a few tips for making the Scripture accessible to your children.

How to Teach Your Children About the Gospel

1. Be an Example

Children learn more from what you do than what you say. Start by setting an example and living the principles of the gospel in your daily life. Show your children how to love, serve, forgive, and be kind.

Take them to church with you, participate in family Bible study and prayer, and show them that your faith is important to you. When children see how the gospel affects your life, they will be more likely to want to learn about it themselves.

2. Use Stories

Bible study

Children love stories, so use that interest to teach them stories from scriptures or your own personal experiences. Stories can help children understand complex principles in a simple and relatable way.

For example, you can use the story of David and Goliath to teach your children about courage, or the story of the Good Samaritan to teach them about kindness and compassion. Using stories to teach the gospel makes lessons more engaging and memorable for your children.

3. Make it Fun

Learning about the gospel should be fun as well as educational. Games, activities, and crafts can make the gospel come alive for your children.

For example, you can make a family tree to teach your children about their ancestors and the importance of family, or you can play a game of "Scripture Bingo" to help them learn about the stories and principles in the Scriptures. When you make learning about the gospel fun, your children will be more likely to remember what they learn and want to learn more.
