About Bethesda Conservatory of Dance

Enroll your child in age-appropriate dance classes at Bethesda Conservatory of Dance. Located in Bethesda, MD, this award-winning dance studio offers creative dance, ballet, jazz, and other dance lessons to children ages 2 and up. With their comfortable and welcoming environment, compassionate instructors, and commitment to student safety, your child will learn self-confidence, improve their techniques, and become stronger every step of the way.

Bethesda Conservatory of Dance is a More Than Just Great Dancing™ affiliated studio. As a MTJGD studio, they teach their students more than dancing. As a student of this academy, your child will learn creative expression, build their confidence, develop discipline, and reach new heights. This dance studio is also YPAD-certified and follows strict guidelines, including incorporating a sprung floor, to ensure safety and wellness inside the classroom.

Jumpstart your child’s dance career by enrolling them in a fundamental dance class. Their beginner dance lessons include:

  • Creative movement: This course was designed by a board-certified dance and movement therapist and nationally certified psychotherapist. This class will teach basic dance shapes and help children develop preschool readiness skills, including spatial awareness, fine motor skills, and independence.
  • Hippity hop: Children ages 3 and up are welcome to join this class that teaches basic hip-hop techniques.
  • Ballet: Starting at age 5, children can enroll in fundamental ballet classes that teach terminology, alignment, and musicality. As students learn new skills, they’re welcome to enroll in more advanced dance classes.

If your child is excelling in general dance classes and has a desire to be part of a team, this academy offers a non-competitive group called the Outreach Performance Team, for ages 7 and up. The dancers in this group will perform jazz and ballet-based choreography to assisted living facilities and other venues in the area.

Whether your child is starting out in dance or wanting to learn a new technique, there’s a place for them at Bethesda Conservatory of Dance. Call (301) 654-2200 to enroll your child in a lesson or visit this dance studio online to learn more about their full list of classes.
