If you're like most people, you probably use your iPhone® quite a bit at work. You may also find that the battery gets drained quickly during the day, which can be inconvenient if you constantly recharge it. While this problem will sometimes require phone repair, you can also preserve your device with the following tips.

How to Keep Your iPhone Battery in Great Shape

1. Decrease Screen Brightness

Setting the screen at full brightness is a surefire way to deplete an iPhone's battery. The stronger the device's light, the more power it consumes. It can also contribute to digital eye strain, a common issue for people who work on computers many hours a day.

Go into the Control Center and adjust the brightness to a level that you're comfortable with. You can also turn off the auto-brightness if it's currently enabled. Dark Mode is another battery-preserving feature that also goes easy on your vision.

2. Adjust Email Settings

The iPhone's push email settings are convenient at work, as you'll never miss important correspondence from coworkers. However, using this feature means the device will continuously check servers to find and download new emails.

This action drains a battery's life throughout the day, especially when using the smartphone for other purposes. You can disable push email notifications by going into the Fetch New Data menu in Settings and turning off the toggle switch.

3. Update Apps Regularly

There are good reasons why smartphone apps constantly prompt you to make updates. Not only do these improve app performance, but they can also stop the programs from draining battery power needlessly.

When an app misses an essential update, it runs inefficiently. Because it's not compatible with the current iOS system, it will require more battery power. To avoid this issue, open the App Store tab in Settings and enable automatic updates for convenience.
