If your kids go away to college, sending them off with all the gear they need may be an unattainable goal. A few essentials are bound to have been forgotten. When you discover that your students have left home without several indispensable supplies, don’t leave them stranded. Ship them what they need in boxes. Here’s a list of the things they may have left behind.

3 Essentials College Students Are Most Likely to Forget

1. First-Aid Kit

Your student should have a first-aid kit to take care of minor scrapes and burns. Include a few over-the-counter pain relievers, decongestants, and antihistamines. When headaches, colds, and allergies strike, they won’t have to haul themselves to the campus pharmacy. Tuck a list of emergency contact numbers in the kit so they know how to summon help should they need it.

2. Laundry Supplies

boxesThey may have packed plenty of detergent and dryer sheets, but what about quarters or campus credits for using the machines? They’ll be grateful if you ship them a compact steamer, especially if they’ve no room for an iron and bulky ironing board. If you box up a steamer with a small bottle of bleach and a spot-treatment stain remover, they’ll be all set when it’s time to wash a load.

3. Bed Accessories

Your teen may have packed their sheets, pillows, and blankets, but chances are they’re missing a few critical accessories. What about risers? Risers will allow them to loft their bed to increase under-bed storage space. In addition, foam mattress toppers will make extra-long twin mattresses a little more comfortable.
