When you’re traveling, you might not have access to fitness equipment to keep up your active lifestyle. However, many invigorating workouts can be performed in your hotel room. Try the following moves to work up a sweat and stay in shape while you’re away from home.
How to Workout While Staying in a Hotel
1. Chair Dips
Strengthen your triceps by sitting on the edge of a chair and doing some chair dips. First, keep your legs straight in front of you and your arms by your sides.
Hold onto the edge of the chair and slowly lower yourself in front of the seat, bending your elbows until they’re at 90-degree angles. Straighten your arms again, and repeat 15 times.
2. Single-Leg Lunges
While standing, put one leg on a chair or bed that’s directly behind you. Next, place your hands on your hips and bend your front knee. Keep your feet hip-width apart, and aim for 15 reps on both sides. This workout can target your hamstrings, calves, and back muscles.
3. Single-Leg Squats
With your feet hip-width apart while standing in front of a chair, raise one leg in front of you. Then, gradually bend into a squat until your glutes hit the seat.
Stand up and repeat the exercise 15 times on each side. You can wear a resistance band around your thighs for a better workout. This accessory is compact and can be stuffed into your bag without taking up too much space.
4. Luggage Overhead Presses
Stand with your feet slightly apart and lift your filled luggage over your head. Slowly bring the luggage closer to your hair by bending your arms.
Extend the arms to raise the luggage and hold the position for a moment or two before lowering it again. You can take out or put in items to adjust the weight of the baggage as needed.
5. Flutter Kicks
With your arms by your sides, lie on the floor and raise your legs a few inches off the ground. Engage your core and make small flutter kicks. Try to continue this exercise for a full minute to maintain a chiseled six-pack.
