1. Inspect the Motorcycle

Take pictures for comparison beforehand so that you know what to look for once it arrives at its destination. 

2. Inflate the Tires

Keep your wheels in good shape by inflating them before the trip. Flat or underinflated tires can't support the bike, which means its weight will rest on the wheels. This can damage the wheels, especially during long-distance towing. Low tire pressure can also affect the motorcycle's balance, which impacts its movements on the tow truck. Check your tires with a gauge beforehand to verify that the pressure per square inch measurement (PSI) matches the number stamped on your tires. 

3. Make Sure the Bike Has Gas 

Don't worry about filling the tank completely before a tow trip. After all, you'll want to keep the bike's weight down for towing. A small amount of gas, however, is helpful for moving the bike on and off of the tow truck if it's in working order. Leave the tank 1/4 full to ensure the tow specialist has enough gas to move the motorcycle. 

4. Leave Instructions for the Driver
