If you want to learn a musical instrument, the piano is an excellent option. Playing music on the piano may improve your mood, let you express emotion and creativity, and keep your brain active. If you're new to the instrument, the following are good songs for beginners.

3 Easy Songs to Learn on Piano

1. "Happy Birthday"

music

"Happy Birthday" is one of the simplest songs because almost everyone is already familiar with it. You'll start by hitting the A key twice, followed by the B, A, D, and C# keys. The second line is the same, except for the last two notes, which are E and D. The third line starts with two A notes, then you'll immediately hit the A an octave higher before pressing the F#, D, C#, and B keys. The song finishes by repeating the first line.

2. "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"

Novice pianists typically pick up on this popular tune quickly. Start by placing your thumb on the middle C and your ring and pinkie fingers on the G and A. To play the first line, hit the C, G, and A keys twice each, then press the G again once. Move into the second line by hitting the F, E, and D keys two times each and land on the C. To play the third line, press the G, F, and E keys twice each and the D key once, then repeat this line. To finish the song, hit G twice, then F#, D, E, and D once each.

3. "Jingle Bells"

Learning this festive tune lets you play music for your friends and family during the holidays. Start by hitting the E seven times, in rhythm, then hit G, C, and D before returning to E. To play the second line, press the F and E keys five times each, then hit the D twice, the E once, and the D and G once each. Repeat the first line exactly. Finish by repeating the second line, but change the final five notes to G, G, F, D, C.
