Christmas is a magical time of year as friends and families gather in fellowship to celebrate the birth of Jesus. But, sometimes, in the stressful hustle and bustle of the season, the true meaning of this wondrous season can get lost. Keep reading to discover three ways you can celebrate Jesus's birth and keep Him at the heart of your Christmas.

How to Remember Jesus This Christmas

1. Give to the Needy

fellowship

Consider celebrating Jesus's birth by following His example of caring for those less fortunate. Food pantries appreciate donations of unexpired canned and dry goods, all of which help families put a healthy meal on the table.

Giving your gently used clothing, toys, or books to charities can help spread Christmas cheer by putting gifts under the trees of those less fortunate. Share your time with others by volunteering in a soup kitchen or a nursing home, where your visit can help bring comfort and fellowship to those who are lonely this season.

2. Worship Jesus Throughout the Season

Keep Jesus at the center of your busy holiday season by devoting time to worshiping Him. Organizing an Advent Bible study that reviews the scriptures of Jesus' birth, life, and teachings can help you develop a better understanding of the reason for this holiday. You can do this by yourself, with your family, or in fellowship with other Christians.

Taking a few moments each day to read an Advent devotional or sing a traditional Christmas carol that celebrates the birth of Jesus can help you remember the true meaning of the season. Attending church, such as Christmas Eve services, can help focus your worship on the birth of Jesus.

3. Bake a Birthday Cake for Jesus

What better way to celebrate Jesus's birthday than with a cake? You can even decorate it, light candles, and sing Happy Birthday to Jesus as part of your Christmas Day tradition. Consider beginning the day by reading the Christmas story together as a family, before opening gifts. Afterwards, keep Him as a part of your celebrations with prayer, thanking Him for all the blessings of the season.
