How to Posture Yourself

1. Stretch Out

Stretching out as much as possible ensures that every inch of your body gets exposed to the tanning bed’s UV rays. It also allows the light to penetrate through your skin more quickly, resulting in a deeper, darker, prolonged tan.

2. Remove the Pillow

Many salons provide a pillow to keep you comfortable while in the tanning bed. However, it’ll cover your neck and can result in paler skin there than elsewhere on your body. Since sessions typically run half an hour or less, consider going without one to promote consistent coloring.

3. Put Your Legs Up

tanningWhen lying straight, the skin around your buttocks and thighs may overlap, making it hard for the UV light to do its job. Therefore, when on your back in an open sunbed, raise your legs, and bend your knees. This exposes more of your skin to the treatment.

4. Lie on Your Stomach 

Adjust your body throughout your tanning session to further facilitate an even glow. This should include spending some time on your stomach. Position your arms on both sides of your body with the palms facing down, or rest your chin on your hands if you’re concerned about being uncomfortable.
