What Do Rod Ends Do?

These are round, flat bearings that are pressed into to rod's ends. Male bearings feature an external threading that extends from the flat surface, while female varieties have hollow tubes with internal threading. 

The bearings inside the rounded ends rotate, allowing smooth and frictionless movement between machine parts. The rotating bearings keep rods aligned at the ideal angles as the system moves. Products for industrial applications may have sharply angled shafts, which allow them to connect highly misaligned parts. 

What Types Are Available From QA1®?

Many high-quality rod ends are self-lubricating with Teflon or UHMW, so they require no maintenance. Self-lubricating joints can be made from lightweight aluminum and are well suited for high-performance industrial machinery. QA1 self-sealing A Series rods are coated with highly durable rubber finishes, making them ideal for support braces, linkages and hydraulic applications.
