How to Remove Earwax Buildup

Instead, follow these steps to safely remove earwax:

• Soften the earwax: Use a few drops of mineral oil, baby oil, or ear drops to soften the earwax. Make sure the liquid is at room temperature before using it.
• Flush the ear: Use a bulb syringe filled with warm water to gently flush the ear canal. Tilt your child's head to the side and gently squirt the water into the ear. Have your child tilt their head the other way to allow the water to drain out.
• Dry the ear: Use a clean towel or cloth to gently dry the outside of the ear. Do not insert anything into the ear canal.
