The story we heard is that you caught a boat load, a truck load and a plane load of fish last week.

That’s not surprising since Alaska Fish & Game counted over 195,000 sockeye salmon swimming up the Kenai River on Wednesday alone. Now you can relax a little and bring those beauties to Alaska Sausage & Seafood Company in Anchorage for smoking, filleting, and vacuum packing.

Here are some FISH PROCESSING DROPOFF TIPS to make your visit go smoothly:

* Bring your fish between 8:00 and 5:30 pm (5:00 pm on Saturday) to our Arctic Blvd plant. We are closed Sunday. It is peak season, so there may be a wait. Please plan a few extra minutes, and thanks for your patience.

* We have a 20 pound minimum per smoking process, and a $50 minimum for fresh filleting/vacuum packing (12-14 lbs). Vacuum packing is included with smoking.

* Prices are based on the incoming weight, so removing head/guts will save money and lead to a higher return. If you can fillet them yourself, that will save you even more. But if you need us to fillet them for you, no problem, our fantastic fish crew does it better than anyone we know.

* Bring them to us frozen or thawed, but no matter what you do, keep them COLD. Ice, ice, ice.

* Our website describes our smoking options/prices and answers more questions. And while you’re there, check out Our Story and read about us celebrating 60 Years in Alaska this summer.
