New Hope Telephone Cooperative has been serving our communities’ communications needs for more than 60 years. The story of progress in the New Hope area (as well as the founding of NHTC) is the story of the Lions Club, a group of dedicated residents whose efforts throughout the 1950s and 60s shaped the future of this region.

For reasons of safety, economic growth and convenience, community members wanted phone service. The Lions Club became a driving force locally in community development. After unsuccessful attempts to bring the big investor-owned telephone company to New Hope, Lions Club members set out to make it happen for themselves.

Creating a cooperative wasn’t easy. Each founding member pledged money up front and then provided continued support in order for the new cooperative to get started. Each individual took a risk – but it was a risk worth taking because they knew they needed a modern communications network.

Today, broadband is the dominant communications need for our area, and New Hope Telephone has evolved to bring that connection to the residents of our community.

NHTC is proud to be a Gig-Capable Certified Provider. Our customers can enjoy Broadband Internet speeds over 100 times faster than those currently available in many US households.

NHTC has received several certifications including: ‘Gig-Capable Provider’ certification from NTCA – The Rural Broadband Association as well as ‘All-Fiber Service Provider’ from the Fiber Broadband Association. These certifications exemplify NHTC’s ongoing efforts to deliver the most technologically-advanced communications services to our communities.
