About The Clam Digger
The Clam Digger is a restaurant chain known for their spectacular seafood. Its first location opened in Ogunquit, Maine in 1982. In addition to cooking outstanding seafood, they also prepare delicious burgers, hot dogs, and the wonderful 100% Angus Philly Cheeze Steak for those who don't eat seafood. Hence the name: The Clam Digger.
It’s all about great, affordable food. It's an e-mail club. It's sassy casual. It's a slower paced, and a bit home-spun. It’s a business that’s set on treating the customers like customers, even calling them by name.
Recently, Rachel Ray Magazine claimed that they have "the #1 grilled hot dog in the country.” Their famous Dare-To-Compare cheeze burgers, at $7.99 Tax includes a big burger, fries and soda - char-grilled to order that’s served any way the customer likes it, from pink to dead. The Clam Digger, in fact, challenges people to find a better burger at a better value. Speaking of how the burgers are served, they cook it however the customer wants.
All that said, the mainstay is the seafood. Fish, Clam Strips, Whole Belly Clams, Shrimp, Crab Cakes and Hot Buttered Lobster Rolls. All fresh, breaded and cooked when ordered, not battered - therefore never greasy, all served in about 4 minutes, and about 30% less money than going to the shore.
Clam Digger declares that “THERE IS NO FRESH SEAFOOD QUICK SERVICE RESTAURANT THAT CAN MATCH OUR QUALITY OR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION, AND NO FULL SERVICE RESTAURANT THAT CAN MATCH OUR VALUE PRICING.”
