If you’re experiencing problems with your water well, your repair expert may suggest a process called hydrofracking. Known for its ability to improve the yield of your water well, it’s a relatively simple service that may be more effective than undergoing a new well installation. Here are five answers to common questions about this procedure.

Top Questions on Hydrofracking

What exactly is hydrofracking?

Hydro fracking, sometimes known as hydraulic fracturing, describes the process by which well drillers increase water flow in a well that isn’t producing enough water. To improve efficiency, experts push high-pressure water into the well. The goal is to allow more water to flow into the well and, as a result, into the home.

How is hydrofracking performed?

Hamburg, NJ water wellThere are two methods of hydrofracking that a water well drilling expert can perform. The standard method involves removing all the water well’s equipment, including the pipes and the water pump. Drillers then send an expandable device known as a packer into the well and pump water through it. This creates internal pressure that causes fractures in the surrounding bedrock to flush out. These fractures provide ample room for water to flow into the well. If this method doesn’t work, drillers may use zone hydro fracking. This involves sending two packers spaced some distance apart into the well to create additional pressure.

What are some of its advantages?

The main advantages are the amount of time it takes to do the process and the success we have in doing the process. The whole process including pulling the pump, Hydro Fracking the well and replacing the pump, are usually done in less than one day. And OUR success rate is better than 97%.

What should homeowners know before work begins?

In addition to hiring a skilled contractor with a proven background of treatments and repairs, it will be necessary to assess if your well is eligible for the process. Your contractor will determine if it is or not. Not all wells are eligible for hydro fracking. Your technician will assess its depth and proximity to other wells to determine if it’s safe to proceed.

Will Hydro Fracking contaminate the earth?

NO. The process we use does NOT use any chemicals except some chlorine to make sure we are not introducing any bacteria into the well. The water we use to Hydro Frack comes out of our own well.
