1. Blocked Drainage System

If there’s a blockage clogging the system, water can’t drain properly and will collect in the pan. When it starts to overflow, the force from the circulation fan can throw this liquid, leaking it through the front grille.

To resolve this issue, remove any dust and dirt clogging the drainage hose with a wet vacuum. Clear any obstructions from the drain pan as well. 

2. Frozen Coil

The evaporator coil inside your AC can ice up, causing condensation to drip from the front of the unit and Leak into your house. The coil can collect ice for several reasons. A dirty air filter can reduce circulation inside the unit’s cooling chamber, causing moisture to collect. If the refrigerant level is low, it can also cause the coil to freeze.

3. Cracked Drain Pan 

Water dripping in your house could be coming from a cracked drain pan. If the pan is plastic, you can fix it with epoxy glue.

However, corroded metal pans must be replaced entirely. An HVAC contractor would recommend replacing a cracked plastic pan as well, as it is easier to install than repair.
