• Your screen takes a while to reach full brightness when it’s first turned on, or goes dim after extended use.
• On Smart TVs with LCD screens, you can check for dead pixels by opening any app which displays a white screen. Check closely, because dead pixels will show up as little dark spots. This are a sign that your screen will probably go out soon.
• Check for any dark patches on the screen, which probably indicate a rupture inside the LCD screen.
• Sounds are not as loud as they used to be, or they come out muffled and distorted.
• The colors are off. For instance, if everything has a purple tint, that means there is no yellow in the image.
• Turn the brightness all the way up and compare it to other screens. If it still appears muted, your set probably needs an expert’s attention.
