The Apple® iPhone® has a great deal of camera features that the average user may not know how to use. These features can greatly improve the quality of your pictures.

  1. Burst Mode

Burst Mode is something many users discover accidentally. Holding down the camera button will trigger the camera to take a rapid series of photos. Burst Mode is fantastic for capturing action or motion shots. With Burst Mode, you can photograph an entire series of events, then choose which pictures of that event you like.

  1. Exposure and Focus

When taking a photograph, you can tap the screen where you would like the camera to focus, and the camera will adjust to maintain focus on the object you’ve selected. Once you’ve selected a focus point, you’ll see a small light symbol next to the square you’ve just made. You can swipe up or down to adjust the level of exposure, which will be indicated by the position of that small light symbol.

  1. HDR or “High Dynamic Range”

Many users may have seen the three letters HDR at the top of their screen while their camera is open, but not known that it meant or what it did. HDR stands for High Dynamic Range, and is a way of capturing a picture with more color and depth. HDR mode takes 3 pictures in rapid succession, one with high exposure, one with low exposure, and lastly one with normal exposure, then combines them to create a photograph with the best elements of all 3.
