Crown Prince Ludwig, later to become King Ludwig I, was married to Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen on 12th October 1810. The citizens of Munich were invited to attend the festivities held on the fields in front of the city gates to celebrate the happy royal event. 

Born was Oktoberfest which has grown into a massive celebration with over 6 Million people taking part in it each and every year. Years later it was moved to September to take advantage of the better weather at that time.

Since 1976 here in Cincinnati we celebrate the largest Oktoberfest outside of Munich with over 500,000 people lining the streets this coming weekend. At the forefront of this celebration are Lederhosen, Drindls, Wiener Dog Races, Chicken Dances and of course BEER!

During this week Cincy Brew Bus wanted to do something special with our beer tours, so we talked to all the breweries who have a special Oktoberfest style on tap and decided to take our groups this week to try them. Breweries like Braxton (Oktoberfuel), Listermann (Fest Bier), Taft’s Ale House (Masskrug), Rhinegeist (Franz), DogBerry (Oktoberfest), Rivertown (Oktoberfest), FigLeaf (Fest Bier), and of course Christian Moerlein (Fifth and Vine or Das UBER).

During your tour you will try one of each Oktoberfest style at each location and let us know which one you like the most!  We will take you behind the scenes for a VIP tour, you will get a Bavarian Soft Pretzel from Servatii, local brewing history, 16-20 ounces of beer and a souvenir glass to take home.
