Hiroshi Kono Violin Review

Hiroshi Kono violins are beautiful hand crafted instruments made in Japan and finished in the USA.  Upon arriving in America, a new bass bar is fitted as well as plate regraduation for optimum tonal resonance.  And finally, the instrument is varnished in an attractive antique style.  This work is done at the Violin House of Weaver.

Kono violins are available in many sizes (1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 7/8, 4/4) and all have beautiful one piece backs.  They are also available in many different sizes for the viola.

So, what makes these instruments so intriguing?  First of all, the tone is very rich and resonant with the right amount of brilliance and amazingly competes with instruments in significantly higher price ranges.  The smaller upper bout is an aid to any musician when shifting to the upper positions.  The tonal response is exceptional.
