1. Lack of Pressure

Check the positioning of the valve to determine the need for adjustment.  

If that’s not the case, then something in the system may be either clogging the pipes or allowing air to leak out of the tubing. Perform a thorough inspection to pinpoint the area that may require repair. 

2. Loud Noises

Systems that grind, rattle, or rumble more than usual may be experiencing inconsistent pressure levels. This usually creates air pockets that press up against the inside of the materials, which can strain the connections and increase the risk of a break. 

Make sure the pressure release valve is functioning correctly by having a technician reset its position. If that doesn’t work, then the part might be malfunctioning and require a replacement.

3. Visible Puddling

Leaks are common with pressure release valves, with the system letting out a small amount of water to maintain even levels. If the drips turn into sizable puddles on the floor, check the valve's positioning. A reset should restore functionality. If it continues leaking large amounts of water, it may have reached the end of its 30-year life span and can no longer maintain the proper amount of pressure.
