With a burgeoning global market, innovations in online technology, and a post-lockdown atmosphere, it's no secret that digital events have become more and more popular. Everything from sales to customer service has shifted to online spaces, so unsurprisingly, large-scale business events have too. Nowadays, companies can participate in virtual expos to showcase their goods and services. Also known as virtual tradeshows, they're just like the ones in person; however, instead of a physical booth, they have a virtual one to give presentations, interact with prospective customers, and meet their fellow neighbors in business. If you plan to participate, here are a few tips to get people to your virtual booth.

How to Make a Virtual Booth Stand Out

1. Start Promotion ASAP

Once you have a date for the virtual business event, start letting people know. Make a post on social media, write a newsletter, and add the expo date to your website so that your current customers or clients can visit your booth. The earlier you do so, the better; not only does this give people a chance to schedule it, but it will also give you a chance to promote it continuously without tiring people out.

2. Familiarize Yourself With the Platform

You should also learn the ins and outs of the online platform you'll be using. The more comfortable you are with the technical aspects, the easier it will be for you and your team to host a presentation, interact with guests, and guide them to your website and social media. If you're uncertain about the functionalities, it will cause delays and other technical mishaps that will reflect poorly on your business.

3. Practice for the Audience That Will Attend

While you may know your customers and their needs very well, remember that during a business event like this, there will be people who may not be familiar with your goods or services at all. Keep that in mind; you'll need to accommodate for questions from those who may not have the exact vocabulary of your industry. Whoever is working the booth at the time should be mindful of to whom they are speaking.

For businesses in the region seeking more promotional and networking opportunities, South Fulton Chamber of Commerce Inc. will be hosting a virtual expo in August. Based in Union City, GA, they've served small businesses, government organizations, and nonprofits in the county and surrounding for more than 75 years. This expo isn't their only business event; you can see a calendar of what they have planned on their website, but if you have any questions, call (770) 964-1984.
