If you’re in charge of planning a class reunion, use social media to your advantage. Here are a handful of ways to incorporate Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other platforms into the event to get your former classmates interested.

How to Use Social Media for Your Class Reunion

1. Create an Event Page

Event pages make it easy to spread the word about the class reunion. Make an event page on Facebook, and encourage those invited to RSVP so you have an accurate sense of how many people to expect. Include incentives for RSVPs, such as a school spirit souvenir or drink ticket. When people respond “Going” to the event, it will show up on their feed where other alumni might chance upon it.

2. Hold a Contest During the Event

Give them reason to share those photos online and generate buzz for the event by asking them to submit photos captioned with their favorite high school memories on Instagram or Twitter. In exchange for tagging the alumni organization, enter them into a drawing for prizes like school apparel, gift cards, or bottles of wine.

3. Post Photos Afterward

Create an easily accessible public album on your school’s Facebook page so attendees can tag themselves in photos and reminisce about the event. Plus, those who weren’t able to come can see who went and what kinds of activities there were, motivating them to attend the next one.

As you put together the perfect class reunion, choose St. Louis Alumni Association in Honolulu as your venue. This alumni organization offers affordable hall rentals that accommodate up to 225 guests, along with event planners who will assist you. If you’re a St. Louis School alum, you can join the organization to receive exclusive discounts. Visit them online to learn more about room rental fees and amenities, and call (808) 949-6633 to reserve a hall.
