Located near downtown Rochester, New York, Main Street Armory is a beautifully constructed historical concert hall, corporate event venue and private event space that plays host to everything from weddings and sports events to live music. With a variety of smaller banquet halls, as well as a central arena, this venue can accommodate over 4,000 concert or event goers, and dinners for parties of anywhere from 100 to 2,000 people. This event space features a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system, a full stage and can offer full catering services.

What truly makes Main Street Armory special, though, is its history and aesthetic. Originally built in 1905 after designs by George L. Heins, it’s a beautiful example of the Romanesque style, which means that it has a fortress-like feel to it that features towers, crenellated parapets, sally ports and iron portcullises. Like many an architectural jewel, it fell into disuse and disrepair until it was bought by local entrepreneur Scott Donaldson in 2005, who fully renovated it and opened it for business in 2007.

Nowadays, this unique and beautiful venue is proudly becoming a fixture in Rochester, even as it continues to develop; parts of the basement have recently been converted into a smaller venue, and plans are underway to restore the third floor and convert part of the west wing into an Italian-American restaurant.
