Can You Handle the Blazin’® Challenge? 3 Facts Wings Fans Need to Know
Do you like all things hot and spicy? Would you do anything to get a free T-shirt? If so, visit Buffalo Wild Wings and tell your server you want the Blazin’® Challenge. This sinus-opening experience consists of 12 chicken wings slathered in BWW’s signature Blazin’ sauce, and you must eat them all in six minutes or less. If you’re wondering if that's all there is to it, keep reading to find out why it’s a test for your taste buds.
The Intensity of the Blazin’ Wing Challenge
300,000 Scoville Units
If the Scoville scale rating means nothing to you, consider the last time you ate a jalapeno pepper — the Blazin’ sauce is 60 times hotter. It’s Buffalo Wild Wings' hottest sauce and similar to some of the hottest liquefied habanero peppers you can buy.
A Waiver
The Blazin’ sauce is so ridiculously hot you must sign a waiver releasing the restaurant of all responsibility before you even can begin the challenge. The fine print says the experience could cause uncontrollable vomiting or even blindness, although you can avoid that last bit by keeping your sauce-covered fingers away from your eyes. To be safe, you should avoid touching any part of your body until after you wash your hands.
No Help
The challenge is just you and the wings — no outside help is allowed. This ban includes your cold, refreshing beverage that will seem to be begging you to drink it to relieve the pain, as well as the tasty ranch or blue cheese dressing you usually dip your wings in. You can’t even use a napkin to soak up the sauce on your hands. You enter the arena alone, and only you or the wings will come out as the champion.
