Brand merchandise is an essential aspect of your organization's promotional efforts, and hats and clothing are among the most popular types of promotional products. However, putting your logo on a T-shirt is not enough. Below are the do’s and don'ts of putting together a promotional clothing campaign to help you get the best results.

Do:

Choose useful, high-value items.

The higher the quality of the clothing and the more practical the promotional product, the more the recipient will use it. Therefore, your logo or brand name will be visible to them and others. Choose products with high-quality fabrics and stitching and clothing items people value. For instance, people love wearing warm sweatshirts, comfortable T-shirts, and stylish ball caps.

Provide multiple options.

promotional productsOnly one T-shirt color with your logo design may not appeal to everyone. Give recipients a choice of a product, size, and brand markers. Some people prefer understated logos, while others may not wear baseball caps or T-shirts and would prefer something else. By providing three or four options, you increase the chances that recipients will find something they like.

Don't:

Overbrand or underbrand.

Make sure your organization's name and logo are visible on the product, but don't overdo it. Placing your brand information on every surface or both sides of a ball cap can look messy and unattractive. Doing so might discourage the recipient from wearing the promotional product frequently.

Limit your reach.

Choose products that many people can enjoy. For instance, pink t-shirts or sports bras featuring your logo could exclude men. You can offer such items, but know that it could limit your reach unless you tailor other items to appeal to men.
