One of the most exciting aspects of being a coin collector is showing off your prized acquisitions. However, it is also important that your mode of display protect your collection. Consider the following four options before settling on your coin display.

4 Display Options for Coin Collectors

1. Glass Cases

It is worth investing in a glass case to display your coins for your friends and family to see. While coins should also be encased in smaller individual containers, they can be positioned in the glass case on top of your mantle, inside your hutch, or even on your coffee table for easy viewing.

2. Snaplock Cases

These individual coin holders are transparent and only about a few square inches in size, and they snap shut. Snaplock cases are also filled with a clear gel or black foam to block out contaminants and humidity. They are excellent for safeguarding the coins inside a larger glass case or displaying just a few pieces at a time.

3. Whitman Folders

To display a full coin collection in a single container, you can invest in a Whitman folder. It has blue pages made of a cardboard-like material with coin-sized openings for easy viewing. The slots are positioned next to descriptions, which list the coin’s mint date, series, and other details. However, since the folders leave coins exposed to air and humidity, you will want to save this display option for lesser-valued coins.

4. Dansco Albums

If you are interested in folder displays with more protection, consider Dansco albums. They feature transparent pockets that shield the coin faces from the elements and the natural oils on skin. When you flip each plastic page, you can see the reverse of each coin without removing them from the pockets.
