About Angelo Lambrou New York
Angelo Lambrou New York is a couture wedding dress and evening gown atelier in New York City. Born in Southern Africa to Greek Cypriot parents, Lambrou developed a passion for design as a teenager. After studying fashion in Johannesburg and Central Saint Martins in London, he opened his own studio, creating what is now an internationally renowned brand. He first earned notoriety and worldwide recognition when his encouragement—and his signature gowns—helped Miss Botswana become the first black African to win Miss Universe.
In 2000, Angelo Lambrou opened his current atelier in Manhattan’s East Village. His striking window displays further caught the eye of fashion’s biggest names. Lambrou's work is instantly recognized not only for its design, but also for the personality and handcrafted skill put into each dress. His light and vintage-inspired bridal gowns have been featured in L’Uomo Vogue, Brides, and Italian Vogue Sposa.
Angelo finds inspiration in the vibrant landscape of his African roots and in the boundless energy of New York. His wedding gowns and evening gowns are passionate: designs alive with texture, shape and form, embracing their New York, African and Mediterranean influences. His signature line of bias cuts, draped wrap details and intricate pleating are completely hand-crafted. The designs incorporate both fluid and tailored lines and frequently feature deconstructed and asymmetric details. Each piece is a celebration of the female form, a work of art worth collecting and showcasing.
Whether it's a rustic wedding in the country, a beach wedding out on Montauk or an elegant affair in a New York City loft, Angelo Lambrou will create a gown to perfectly match the vision you have for your wedding or event.
