1. They’re Big

On average, adult green sea turtles can grow to be three or four feet long and can weigh up to 400 pounds. The biggest green sea turtle discovered was over five feet long and weighed 871 pounds. 

2. They’re Herbivores

When first born, green sea turtles are omnivorous and eat a variety of sea life, including jellyfish, sponges, worms, and seaweed. Once they reach adulthood, they become almost exclusively herbivores and subsist on seagrasses and algae. This diet gives their skin its green color. 3. They’re Known as “Honu” in Hawaii
