100-Pound Tanks

This size, which is over two feet by around a foot, makes sense for families that barbecue frequently or that regularly use a fireplace or dryer. While these tanks are heavier, they’re still easily portable. You just need to keep them several feet away from doors, windows, and any possible fire source. 

500-Pound Tanks

When you are even more reliant on propane and use it to heat your home completely, or for many gas-based appliances, you may need a 500-pound propane tank. This larger size is also appropriate for commercial spaces or businesses that have a more significant footprint. Since these units are more than 10 feet long and over three feet in diameter, they need to be positioned over ten feet away from the building and are often buried underground.
