PILATES MOVEMENTS positively changes & improves your LIFE
The Benefits of Practicing Pilates
In Pilates, you will deepen your sense of movement, learn to breathe properly which helps execute movements with power and efficiency. As well as strengthen and tone your body.
IMPROVEMENT #1: Develop a strong core, flat abdominals, and a strong back
Pilates exercises work to develop a strong core by engaging muscles in a variety of different exercises that would not be considered SIT UPS. The guided exercises elongate and strengthen your muscles which improves elasticity and joint mobility. Many are pleasantly surprised to see their abdominals are flatter.
IMPROVEMENT #2: Create an evenly conditioned body, improve athletic performance, and (bonus) prevent injuries
Injury is caused by muscular imbalances that conventional workouts can create if not completed properly. Pilates conditions the whole body. No one muscle group is over trained or undertrained. You’ll become evenly balanced, helping you enjoy daily activities and sports with greater ease, perform better with less chance of injury. For non-athletes, you will notice better balance, smoother more stable movements preventing falls and accidents.
IMPROVEMENT #3: Learn how to move more efficiently
Pilates reformer exercises work to improve and strengthen several muscle groups at once through smooth, continuous movements. Proper technique is guided by a certified Pilates instructor, and can actually re-train your body to move in safer, more efficient patterns of motion. Again, for non-athletes, this will improve your balance and stability preventing unnecessary slips and falls. In fact, Pilates is so safe, it is encouraged for recovery in physical therapy facilities. Instructors will make modifications to the exercises as your body conditioning improves.
