If you often travel for work, going to the gym regularly can pose a challenge. However, you don’t have to abandon your fitness goals. With a little creativity, you can get a rigorous workout each morning or night from the comfort of your hotel room. Below are some of the most effective exercises that don’t demand any special equipment.

How to Work Out in a Hotel Room

1. Luggage Presses

Zip up a suitcase and raise it over your head while standing with your feet about shoulder-width apart. Straighten both elbows and hold this position for one breath before lowering the luggage slowly.

Repeat for three sets of 10 reps each to strengthen the arm muscles. If the exercise is too easy or too challenging, adjust the contents of the suitcase to make it heavier or lighter. Holding the luggage still while doing some squats can be the perfect workout for your legs as well.

2. Chair Dips

hotelStand in front of a sturdy chair that doesn’t have any wheels with your back to it. Place both hands on the edge of the seat with your fingertips facing forward and extend both legs until they’re straight, keeping the weight on the heels.

Bend both elbows to lower your body but don’t go so low that your glutes touch the floor. Then, return to the starting position by straightening the arms. Repeat 10 to 15 times per set to build your triceps.

3. Flutter Kicks

Lie on your back on the floor with both arms by your side. Raise both feet a few inches off the ground and kick your legs up and down to engage your core.

Try to kick for one minute straight before resting. Repeat two to three times per workout. This exercise can easily be done during television advertisements or when you need a break from business paperwork.
