About Zimmerman Driving School Inc.
Since 1966, Zimmerman Driving School has been providing Wisconsin drivers with the tools they need to become accomplished, experienced drivers. Operating under the same ownership for nearly 50 years has made the school a leader in driver education. Whether you’re a teen driver or need to take a defensive driving class, the skilled instructors will have you up to speed in no time.
Each driver’s education course utilizes the most up-to-date, state-issued motorists' handbook and a host of other materials, including video presentations and guest speakers. Zimmerman Driving School aims to make each course exciting and interactive, enabling all of its students to become informed motorists. Each class consists of 30 hours of classroom time, six hours of “on the road” training, and six hours of observation.
Driving is a privilege, but with that privilege comes rules and responsibilities. Zimmerman Driving School takes safety very seriously. In each course, the instructors review the requirements for obtaining a driver’s license, how to handle common driving hazards, and how the effects of alcohol impact your driving. At the end of each course, students will plan their own trip around town to show off their skills.
In addition to its regular adult and teen driving courses, Zimmerman Driving School also offers a “Failure to Yield Class,” a requirement for any driver issued a “Failure to Yield” ticket. This two-hour class is required by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to be completed within a year of the issuing date.
