“Eleven al Tango” (Elevate Tango) is a project created in Argentina by the TTD (Trabajadores Tango Danza, or Workers of Tango Dance) to support the Tango dance workers in Argentina, whose main or only income is through teaching tango and are now trying to survive through this pandemic.
It's a way of generating work opportunities in a cooperative, collaborative and communitarian way, that may benefit the whole community.
"Eleven al Tango" consists of 11 days in total, with a celebration on the last day: on Dec 11, which is the National Day of Tango (the birth of Carlos Gardel and Julio De Caro).
There are 60 different virtual classes available, of which you’ll have to pick 3. You choose by TOPIC, not by teacher. Cost is only $11 (US dollars).
Classes will be held at Noon, 4pm and 8pm Argentinean time. Argentina is 3 hours ahead of US-Central Time, so they will at: 9am, 1pm and 5pm US-Central Time.
Registration is required and there are limited spots.
