If the temperature goes below this range, the material dries faster and loses structural stability. To avoid these issues, the outdoor weather should be at least 70 degrees or hotter.

This means you can complete paving projects well into the fall in most areas in New York. If you miss this window, you’ll need to wait until spring to pour the mix.

Avoid Damage From Cold Weather

If you want to re-pour asphalt on an existing surface, doing it before the first frost will prevent winter damage. Melted snow and ice can seep into existing cracks, then expand when they freeze.
