What to Wear to a Women’s Boxing Class
1. Sports Bra
The sport involves a lot of upper body movements, which can be uncomfortable for women who are well-endowed in the chest. A sports bra will keep the chest firmly in place without sacrificing comfort. Choose a bra built for high-impact activities rather than one designed for looks.
2. Moisture-Wicking Bottoms
Because boxing is a high-impact activity, you will sweat profusely. While wearing standard cotton and spandex leggings to class is acceptable, sweat may cause the pants to sag and feel damp. Bottoms with moisture-wicking technology, on the other hand, will keep legs dry during training. If you prefer to have your legs bare during your session, moisture-wicking compression shorts are a worthy alternative.
3. Sleeveless Shirt
If you prefer to wear a top over your bra, consider a tank top or shirt with cut-off sleeves. Keeping the shoulders bare will give you a full range of motion as you learn how to punch and block hits. It’s also easy to take off a sleeveless top while wearing boxing gloves.
4. Appropriate Footwear
Aside from punching and blocking, boxing involves a lot of footwork, which is why you need to wear the right shoes. Boxing shoes give adequate ankle support, and the soles will firmly grip the gym floor.
