Your vision gradually changes over time, as your eyes go through physical changes as you get older. That's why it's not uncommon to go through numerous pairs of prescription glasses in one lifetime. Although age is a factor beyond your control, there are plenty of choices you make that also affect how your eyes function, including those mentioned here.

What Bad Habits Affect Eyesight?

1. Not Drinking Enough Water

Don't grab a soda or fruit juice to quench your thirst. The sugars and salts affect fluid levels inside the body. When you feel thirsty, drink water instead. In fact, you should drink eight glasses of water each day to remain hydrated. Dehydration causes your eyes' tear film to become dry. The sensation that something is "stuck" in the eye and light sensitivity, even while wearing prescription glasses, are common symptoms of dry eye.

2. Not Sleeping

Strive to get seven to nine hours of sleep each night, as sleep deprivation can leave eyes angry in the morning. Not getting enough sleep affects tear production. Your eyes need tears to remain lubricated and ward off infection-causing bacteria. Tiredness can also cause muscle spasms which can lead to uncomfortable eye twitching.

3. Using Eye Makeup Carelessly

When applying eye makeup, you might be tempted to place shadow or water in the tightline, waterline, or inner tearduct to enhance the shape or brightness of your eyes. Placing makeup this close to your eyeball is a bad idea. The cream- and gel-based products could block your tear ducts. A blockage could cause pink eye and swelling
