Participating in gymnastics is a fun way for kids to increase their agility, movement, and flexibility. 1. Neck Stretches
Stretching the neck helps release tension throughout the body, which makes completing difficult moves easier. To ensure your child is loose, have them tilt their head to one side gently and hold the position for 10 seconds. Then, have them repeat this motion until they have completed it on all sides of their head. Finally, they can finish the stretch by rolling their head around slowly in a circle to stretch all the muscles in the area.
2. Standing Pike
This type of stretch improves flexibility in the lower back and hamstrings. Make sure your young gymnast is standing straight and tall. Then, instruct them to bend down gradually and touch their toes. Tell them to hold the position for a few seconds, and then slowly stand up again, as this stretches the back muscles. 3. Lunges
