Many people spend an average of 40 hours a week at work, depending on their jobs. Whether you've recently begun a new job or are dealing with a heavy workload at a position you've had for years, everyone reacts differently to stress. If you're experiencing workplace stress and it's beginning to influence your performance, here are some ideas to help you achieve anxiety relief.

Anxiety Relief Tips for Work-Induced Stress

1. Pace Yourself

Much of the tension associated with work may be attributed to meeting deadlines and completing assignments to the satisfaction of your employer. If possible, take your time and set a timeframe that will allow you to complete your assignment comfortably. If you don't have much time to commit to a project, enlist assistance. You may be surprised to discover that people desire to assist you in lightening the load.

2. Exercise

Consider going to the gym or for a jog before or after work. While it may seem difficult to find the desire to exercise when under a great deal of stress, exercise has been shown to offer significant anxiety relief. Physical exercise produces endorphins, which have a relaxing impact on the body. Additionally, it might divert your attention away from the many areas of your job that are causing you the greatest concern.  Don't have time?  Check out this 10-minute episode of Talk About Health Living on how to get fit in only 15 minutes a day.

3. Talk to Your Manager

While you may be concerned about discussing your anxiety with your supervisor, they may be able to make concessions to assist you. Additionally, it is critical to remember that an employer cannot discriminate against you based on your mental or physical health.

4. Get Outside Help
