When backyard gatherings or afternoons at the pool turn into evenings at your local sports bar for a bit of drinking fun, there's no need for the games to stop. Lawn darts and horseshoes can switch to any of these games that take few if any props, can be played with your usual group, and will maybe turn a few strangers into new friends.

What Are Some Fun Games to Play at the Bar?

1. Most Likely

A group of four or more can play this game, which tests how well you know your friends or lets you get to know them better. Someone in your group will ask a question, "Who would be most likely to..." The question can be as innocent as, "Who would be most likely to eat an ant?" or "Who would be more likely to do something embarrassing in public?" On the count of three, all the other players will then point to the person they think would be most likely to.

Anyone with fingers pointed at them must have a drink for every finger pointed in their direction. Be careful about picking obvious questions, and be sure to designate a driver in the group for safety.

2. I'm Going on a Picnic

Three or more people, including your friends and others you meet at your local sports bar, can play. One person will start the game by finishing this statement, "I'm going on a picnic, and I'm bringing..." with a subject of their choice. The following person will repeat the statement, including the first player's answer, and add their own. Every person will repeat and add to the string. When players mess up, they drink.

3. Cheers to the Governor

Four or more friends go around a circle, counting from one to 21. The initial rule is that seven and 11 are switched, and the player who has to count seven says "11" instead. At 11, that player says "seven."

The player who counts "21" adds a rule to the game. He could tell you to hop on one foot when you say the number five. The group starts counting from one and follows all the rules until every number is assigned a task.

4. Quarters

You can play this traditional sports bar's favorite game with all your friends. Most will already know how to play. For those who don't, the rules are simple. The game requires a quarter and glasses filled with drinks. Each person bounces a quarter attempting to get it in the glass. The ones who succeed at the task take a drink.
