There’s no better way to unwind than a day spent hitting balls on the gorgeous fairways at Waikoloa Village Golf Club followed by relaxing in the sun on one of the nearby pristine beaches. Located at approximately 1,000 feet of elevation, Waikoloa Village Golf Club in Hawaii offers stunning views of five volcanoes and the Kohala coastline. With only 12 inches of rain each year and more than six beaches within a 15-minute drive of the best Big Island golf course, you can count on a fun day in the sun.

Here is an inside look at some of the best beaches to visit after your tee time at Waikoloa Village Golf Club:

  • Holoholokai Beach Park: The beach park at Mauna Lani is on a rocky strip of coastline; although there are more rocks and sand, the water is fun to swim in. Be sure to walk along the Malama Petroglyph Trail. Connected to the beach, the trail features the largest collection of petroglyphs in the state.
  • Anaehoʻomalu Bay: Also known as A-Bay, Anaehoʻomalu Bay is a white-sand beach perfect for swimming, windsurfing, snorkeling, and diving. The bay is well protected, so the waters are fairly calm. Rent a snorkel gear or a glass-bottom boat — perfect for seeing fish without getting wet — and take a sunset cruise.
  • tee timeWaialea Bay: Also known as Beach 69 because of the No. 69 utility pole close to the parking area, Waialea Bay is a white-sand beach that offers lots of tree cover. The bay has a rich diversity of marine life; making it a popular spot for swimming and snorkeling.
  • Hapuna Beach State Park: Hapuna Beach is the largest of The Big Island’s white sand beaches. The landscaped beach park is great for swimming, body surfing, sunbathing, and picnicking.
  • Mau'umae Beach: A secluded beach with beautiful, clear blue water, Mau'umae Beach is one of Hawaii’s best kept secrets. Accessible only by an old coastal road and a short hike, the beach is a quiet spot for a serene dip.
  • 49 Black Sand Beach: 49 Black Sand Beach is the closest black-sand beach to the Waikoloa Village Golf Club. Visitors can snorkel in the crystal clear water or take a walk along a beautiful trail on the rim of the bay.

After tee time, stop by one of the nearby beaches for more breathtaking scenery. For more information about the best Big Island golf course, visit the Waikoloa Village Golf Club website or call (808) 883-9621 for tee times.
