Whether you're new to golf or a long-time enthusiast, consider mixing up your time on the fairway with scramble games. A scramble is where a team of four players competes against all other teams of four on the green, with each hitting balls off of respective tees. The ball that lands in the best location determines the next starting point, and there's one score per hole. Golf scrambles are informal tournaments that eliminate personal scores, and the rules vary depending on the specific game. Here are a few scramble games to suggest during your next outing.

3 Unique Golf Scramble Options

1. Draw the Club

Play Draw the Club by writing everyone's names on pieces of paper, then placing them in a bag. Each team member draws a name before teeing off and must use the club of the person they draw. The game results in difficult yet entertaining shots, such as using an iron or putter to hit a long drive.

2. Worst Ball

Laugh your way through the fairway playing Worst Ball or Reverse Scramble. The player who takes the worst shot off the tee dictates your team’s next starting point, like having to hit the ball from a sand pit, next to a water hazard, or behind a tree.

Worst Ball takes longer to finish since everyone tees off from problematic locations. However, it provides an entertaining way to challenge yourself and sharpen your skills.

3. Powerball Scramble

Enjoy competing using a predetermined number of holes in Powerball Scramble. Instead of all four members teeing off at each hole, choose one player to hit the drive.

It’s more fun to pick a different person per hole for varied tee locations. However, you can vote to use the same experienced player twice or three times in a row if you’re in competition with other teams and want to increase your chances of winning.
