Septic Tanks 

While standard septic tank(s) systems are most common, they are being replaced with Aeration Units when replacements are necessary due to regulations by the EPA, and local Health Departments in Ohio.

A septic tank is comprised of a single tank with an inlet and outlet openings. Every drop of water used in the home enters the inlet of the tank, where solids settle at the bottom and liquids float to the top. Once the septic tank(s) are full, wastewater exits the tank from the outlet opening and goes out into the ground to the designated leaching area usually on the property. 

Aeration Units

Aerobic systems contain three chambers: All waste enters the first chamber (Chamber A) where waste settles into layers on the bottom, waste water then moves to the second chamber (Chamber B). Here, air bubbles circulate to keep aerobic bacteria active, as they require oxygen. The cleaned bacterial wastewater then flows into the third chamber (Chamber C) tank for a final cleansing before being dispersed.
