If you plan to socialize with your family at a bar, you might decide to take it easy for the evening. Avoiding heavy drinking means that you can drive everyone home safely afterward, and you won’t wake up with a headache in the morning. To relax with a light buzz, order one of the low-alcohol beverages below.

What to Order at the Bar for a Light Buzz

1. Aperol® Float

If you have a sweet tooth or are craving a craft beer, try an Aperol float. Aperol is an aperitif with sweet and spicy notes due to the presence of orange, rhubarb, and herbs.

Aperol contains 11 percent ABV, so it’ll give you a minor buzz. The dessert-like drink includes a scoop of the ice cream of your choice, 1.69 ounces of Aperol, and a dash of blood orange soda for bubbles.

2. Wine Spritzer

barLiquor generally has a higher alcohol content than wine, so skip mixed drinks made with spirits. If you’re craving a vodka tonic or gin and ginger, try a wine spritzer at the bar instead.

The beverage consists of three ounces of your favorite white wine or rose, paired with one ounce of club soda to give the carbonated cocktail a refreshing fizz. Orange or lemon bitters add tangy notes to the buttery, semi-sweet taste of the wine.

3. Mimosa With Rosemary & Bitters

To enhance the flavor profile of a traditional mimosa, have the bartender add rosemary and bitters. Aromatic bitters will complement the tartness of the orange juice, while a sprig of rosemary will add a savory accent to the slightly lemony, sour taste of the champagne.
