Don't:

Trespass.

Some guidebooks direct tourists to splendid locations without considering whether they are open to the public. Try to stay off private property, and look for—and respect— signs that read "No Trespassing." If you simply must enter onto private property, be sure to ask permission first. 

Litter.

Maui is clean and pristine, and the locals hope to keep it that way. Do your part by not littering. Use available trash receptacles. If these are not available, carry out anything you carry in—including cigarette butts. You didn't visit a tropical paradise to look at someone else's waste, so please be considerate of others.
