Recently we've had success in locating Whale Sharks off the Kailua-Kona Coast. We came across one today! We've seen them on Private Charters and during surface intervals during the daytime. These are considered to be the Holy Grail of SCUBA and snorkeling and the opportunity to swim near a whale shark is an event that you will never forget. Whale sharks are the world's largest cartilaginous fish (18-33 feet and up to 41,000 lbs) and the world's largest non-mammalian vertebrate. They are not dangerous. Like manta rays, Whale Sharks are filter feeders. Come dive with us or snorkel with us. Maybe you too will be lucky enough to encounter a whale shark. Be sure to bring a camera!
