Educational Background

Born and raised in Honolulu, Dr. Lau graduated from ‘Iolani High School, then continued his postsecondary education at the University of Southern California, studying Biological Sciences. Dr. Lau returned to his home state in 2009 to receive his medical degree from the University of Hawai’i John A. Burns School of Medicine in 2013. He rounded out his training by completing his orthopedic surgery residency in 2018.

Specialized Skills

Providing comprehensive care is important to Dr. Lau, which is why he completed a sub-specialty fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy at the Southern California Institute. This revered fellowship provided him with the training to complete minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery to treat shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle disorders. During this fellowship, Dr. Lau treated a range of athletes, from high school and college to professionals in the NBA, NFL, MLB, and MLS.

In 2019, we welcomed Dr. Lau to our practice as an orthopedic surgeon with a specialty in sports medicine and advanced arthroscopy, trauma, and total joint arthroplasty. In addition to providing our patients with compassionate and skilled care, Dr. Lau enjoys running, swimming, body surfing, and hiking.
