When you’re at a music festival, having as few belongings as possible gives you more freedom to move and dance. However, having a few essentials ensures a stress-free experience. Here are some items that won’t interfere with your good time.

What to Bring to a Music Festival

1. The Right Clothes

At most music festivals, you can expect to be on your feet while watching your favorite performers. You may also do a fair amount of walking. To that end, you should wear supportive sneakers or bring a pair you can change into. Pack additional layers, such as a hoodie and rain poncho, in case the weather turns. For an outdoor event, a hat and sunglasses will help you stay cool.

2. Cash

Many food vendors and merchandise tents now accept credit cards. However, some may only take cash or have card minimums. Plus, if a vendor’s payment system goes down, cash might guarantee you get that much-needed bottle of water or exclusive tee right away.

3. Phone Charger

4. Small Bag

Pockets will only get you so far at a festival. To stow the items mentioned above and any concert swag you pick up, you’ll need a small bag. Choose a crossbody purse or compact backpack since some venues have bag size restrictions. A light bag is also easier to carry and won’t bog you down.

5. Hair Ties

Hair ties are essential if you have long hair. A few spare elastics will come in handy if you get too warm or need to pull your locks back from your face to get a clear view of the stage. Plus, you can use them to tie up your t-shirt for additional cooling.

If you’re looking for the next great East Coast event, turn to LittyPalooza. Held in Johnsonville, SC, this festival offers music by talented DJs, along with a car and bike show.
