3. Wear Headphones

You might need to adjust the headphones to accommodate the protective eyewear worn during dental X-rays, cleanings, and checkups to remain comfortable. 

4. Consider Sedation Dentistry 

Some dental practices offer sedation dentistry, such as nitrous oxide, that helps patients feel less anxious. Nitrous oxide provides a hazy, euphoric-like mental state, rather than rendering you unconscious. However, patients can still fall asleep under nitrous oxide. You can drive after receiving nitrous oxide, but should wait about 15 minutes before getting behind the wheel to ensure you are fully alert. If you don’t feel comfortable driving, have a friend, partner, or family member pick you up.
