At Con-Spec, safety is our top priority. As concrete contractors in Englewood, CO, we follow the American Concrete Institute (ACI) Manual of Standards Practice during every job to ensure our employees and partnering contractors are safe. Here’s a brief overview of the precautions we take and the guidelines we follow to minimize accidents and other risks.

PPE Equipment

The mixing, pouring, and drying of concrete can be hazardous to humans without proper protection. Therefore, we always use personal protective equipment (PPE) to keep our employees safe on job sites. We follow updated regulations and provide our concrete contractors with all required PPE equipment, including:

  • Face masks or respirators
  • Hard hats
  • Earplugs
  • Safety gloves
  • Protective eyewear for flying debris, chemicals, and dust
  • Protective clothing, including rainwear, vests, and long-sleeved shirts
  • Protective footwear, including steel-toed PVC boots
  • Task-specific PPE worn during repairs and cleanings

Pre-Task Planning & Safety Meetings

We do pre-task planning at the start of every workday to ensure all construction workers and concrete contractors understand how to follow the necessary safety procedures. These meetings typically include reviewing the tasks that need to be completed, identifying the potential hazards that could arise, and discussing the corrective measures that have been put into place to avoid or minimize these risks. We also hold weekly meetings on-site to review and evaluate established safety protocols, emergency response plans, and equipment operating procedures. We provide a space for our workers to express any concerns and ask questions. As a result, our workers begin each job feeling heard, protected, and prepared to deliver ideal results.
